When Erik began making hand hammered woks, he had no one to turn to for mentoring. It was through Grace Young's book, The Breath of the Wok, that he learned the intricacies of wok making and cooking. Using the photographs and stories of the Cen brothers in China working on their own hand hammered woks, Erik was able to recreate the perfect bowl.
Grace Young's cookbooks are rich with stories of food and culture, and the quest for the elusive flavor of 'wok hay' in stir fried foods.
